Angela Simmons is opening up a little more about her relationship with Yo Gotti and what she believes led to their breakup.
During an interview with ‘Cam Newton on Funky Friday’, Angela made it clear that she doesn’t look back at the relationship with negativity. In fact, she said she had a great relationship with Gotti and still has love and respect for him and his family.
When the conversation turned to why things eventually ended, Angela suggested they simply weren’t in the same place when it came to taking the relationship to the next level.
“I feel like, maybe he just wasn’t ready,” she explained. “And then, we’re not in the same space.”
Angela also made it clear that she doesn’t feel Yo Gotti was a bad partner. When asked what the relationship taught her, she said it showed her that she would make a great wife.

The former couple began dating publicly in 2022 after years of Gotti expressing his interest in Angela through his music. Their relationship eventually became more serious, with Angela previously describing Gotti as “the one.”
During her 2024 interview on ‘The Breakfast Club’, Angela stated that she definitely planned to marry him because she was “too old to be playing games.”
Although the relationship ended, Angela said there’s still love there and that she continues to care about him and his family.
As for whether the two could ever find their way back to each other, Angela left that door open, saying she’s willing to follow wherever God leads her.
For now, though, Angela seems focused on herself and what comes next.
