Halle Berry’s Ex-Husband Files A Restraining Order Against Her

Things have taken another serious turn between Halle Berry and her ex-husband Olivier Martinez.

Martinez has filed for a restraining order against Berry and is accusing the actress of physically confronting their 12-year-old son, Maceo.

According to court documents, Martinez claims Berry put her hands around their son’s neck and choked him during an alleged incident at her home in September. He also alleges there have been other incidents involving physical, verbal, and emotional abuse.

Martinez is asking the court for sole legal and physical custody of Maceo.

A judge has temporarily limited Berry’s visitation while the matter moves forward, with another court hearing scheduled for October 16.

Berry’s legal team has denied the allegations, calling Martinez’s claims “entirely meritless and deliberately misleading.” Her attorneys have also accused Martinez of violating court orders and interfering in matters involving their son.

More Details Behind Halle Berry’s and Olivier Martinez Relationship

Berry and Martinez connected in 2010 during the set of the movie Dark Tide and began dating.

Two years later, they got engaged, and in July 2013 they held a private marriage ceremony in France while expecting their child.

In October 2015, they filed for a divorce, citing irreconcilable differences, fiery personalities, and lifestyle clashes.

Though their short-lived marriage ended quickly, their divorce dragged on for years before they finally settled in August 2023. Since then, they have continued to share custody of Maceo.

Berry agreed to pay $8,000 a month in child support plus a percentage of higher earnings, alongside shared joint custody. The two have continued to clash greatly in court over co-parenting schedules and mandatory family therapy sessions.

For now, these are only allegations, and the custody disagreement is still playing out in court.
